Lorain County Sheriff’s Sales
NOTICE – ONLINE SHERIFF’S SALES:
Beginning on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office will conduct the sale of all real estate subject to foreclosure on the new Sheriff’s Sale Website, which is operated by RealAuction, based on a contract with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services. The process and procedures under which these sales will be completed are detailed on this new website. All prospective bidders should familiarize themselves with this new process.

All questions pertaining to the Online Sales Process, Bidding, and Deposits should be directed to Real Auction Customer Service at 1-877-361-7325 or customerservice@realauction.com.
Purchaser Information Forms are completed automatically upon answering the Registration questions at RealAuction.
IT IS THE BUYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED CORRECTLY, SO THAT THE CORRECT INFORMATION IS INCLUDED ON THE PURCHASER INFORMATION FORMS.
The purchaser (high bidder) will be notified by Real Auction at the end of the sale online and by email. Real Auction will submit the Purchaser Information Form to the Sheriff’s Office at the close of the Sheriff Sale.
Sheriff Sales are governed by the Common Pleas Court
Sheriff sales are held on designated Wednesdays, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for Civil Cases and Tax cases.
Civil Cases: These are held on real auction website and can be bid on by registering and bidding on a scheduled property. Go to https://lorain.sheriffsaleauction.ohio.gov/index.cfm?resetcfcobjs=1 (Real Auction) to register and bid. A deposit must be on account with real auction in order to bid. Please review the instructions listed on their site. If you have questions on this process you can contact real auction for assistance. The Sheriff and Civil division have no control over this process.

Tax Cases: They are conducted by a verbal auction with the property sold to the highest bidder. The final bid that is accepted by the Sheriff results in a legally enforceable Contract under Ohio Law. All Sheriff sales (both civil and tax) will be held at the following location starting with the 1st sales of 10-20-21 at 10:00 a.m. | Lorain County Administration Building – Commissioner’s Public Hearing Room on the 4th floor – Conference room (A) 226 Middle Ave, Elyria Ohio 44035 Please call or check the Sheriff’s website prior to sales as many sales are cancelled on the day prior to the sale.
Sale dates will be posted on the Sheriff’s website as they become available.
In addition to a verbal notice we want everyone to raise their hand to signal a bid.
Social distancing is expected during the sales.
Do not come to bid if you are ill or have a fever.
You must have proper identification and the appropriate cashier’s check before bidding.
