Press Release August 25, 2025

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 9:00pm, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at 1715 Meister Road in the City of Lorain. The victim, Robert Willis, a twenty-eight (28) year old male from North Ridgeville was transported to Mercy Health Lorain where he succumbed to his injuries.

The facts and circumstances of the investigation lead to the arrest of suspect JO MAR PEREZ, 21 of Lorain, on Monday, August 25, 2025. In addition to his arrest a search warrant was also executed upon Perez’s Lorain apartment. Perez will be arraigned through the Lorain Municipal Court for Murder (ORC 2903.02) a Felony of the First Degree.

For further information a press conference will be held at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday 8-26-25 at 1 :00 P.M.
