Office of Chief Deputy
The chief deputy is responsible for the total operation of all divisions of the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. The chief deputy plans and monitors the $30 million budget for the agency and ensures contract compliance with hundreds of vendors we utilize daily. Additionally, the chief deputy is responsible for maintaining the professional standards of the office and conducts inquiries into the internal affairs of our deputies, officers and staff.
Tanya Czack is the Chief Deputy for our agency and is the first female chief deputy in the history of the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Czack brings over 35 years of law enforcement experience to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. She retired from the Parma Heights Police Department after rising through the ranks to become Chief of Police. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Staff and Command Program, she has also served in numerous leadership and advisory roles during her career including: trustee of the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Board; the Polaris Academy Advisory Board; and, as the suburban liaison for Bluecoats.
Her leadership style is marked with fairness and dedication to those she serves.
