Court Services

The Court Services Unit provides building security for the judicial center, county judges as well as coordinate the transportation of inmates for each judges’ courtroom. Transportation includes picking up and returning inmates to prisons throughout the state and extraditions throughout the country. These deputies also take persons into custody by order of the court, and process them into the county detention center. Court unit deputies are responsible for the care, custody and control of all inmates transported for court. A deputy assigned to the control room has immediate control over the inmates that are returned for court and housed within the holding cells located in a secure area of the judicial center.

We also oversee the security of the County Probation and Administration buildings.  In addition we transport from both State and Federal institutions throughout the country. Those Federal institutions within in state we work through our partnership with the United States Marshall’s service to obtain those prisoners in federal custody, to arrange their appearance in court.

Court unit deputies also respond to law enforcement calls for service within the judicial center. These disturbances usually arise from family court, child support, divorces, and injunction cases.
