
Lieutenant Robert Vansant
Lieutenant Vansant started at the Lorain County Sheriffs Office in 1998 as a Corrections Officer. After completing the Police Academy in May of 2002, he began his career as a Reserve Patrolmen for the Village of Sheffield, while continuing to work full-time as a corrections officer at the Lorain County Correctional Facility. In 2003 he was deployed for Homeland Security with the Ohio Army National Guard. Upon his return, he was hired as a Deputy Sheriff in 2005 and assigned to the Road Patrol Division. Lieutenant Vansant has been assigned as a Field Training Officer, Township Impact Patrol Deputy, and Detective. In October of 2018, he was promoted to Sergeant where he was a shift Supervisor on the Afternoon shift as well as the Night shift. In July of 2019, he was promoted to Lieutenant where he is was overseeing road patrol operations then became the supervisor of the Detective Bureau.
