Sheriff Jack M. Hall and his staff welcome you to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office website.

I am honored to have been elected and to serve as your 37th Lorain County Sheriff since the office was founded in 1824. I have been a lifelong resident of Lorain County and proudly reside in Columbia Station. I began my career over 34 years ago with the Sheffield Village Police Department and then proudly served the residents of Avon Lake as a patrol officer and detective sergeant. That service expanded to all Lorain County when I was appointed to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Drug and Anti-Terrorism Task Force.
My career later took me to Cleveland as the Captain of Special Operations for the Cleveland Metroparks Police Department and then Chief of the Westfield OFIC Police Department in Medina County. I also had the proud opportunity to serve as a deputy sheriff with the Medina County Sheriff’s Office before being elected your sheriff.
I take great pride in the law enforcement teams I have been a part and the teams I’ve been able to build. With that experience we are building a great team at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office comprised of professional men and women who join the rank of the many who have had the tradition and honor of serving the citizens of this great country.
