Capt. Gibson began her professional career working for a three county mental health/substance abuse counseling agency eventually being promoted to the position of Administrative Secretary for the Management Team. During that time, Capt. Gibson also attended Terra Community College and obtained an Associated of Applied Science degree in 1997. In 1992, Gibson began working for the Seneca County Prosecutor’s Office as Director of Victim Assistance Services of Seneca and Wyandot Counties. In 2001, Gibson began working for the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office with the eventual assignment of Jail Administrator. In 2007, Gibson was hired as the Captain/Jail Administrator for the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. During the time with Wood County, Gibson received certification as an OPOTA Jail Academy Instructor/Commander and a PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Auditor certified by the Department of Justice and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Bluffton College. Gibson began with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office on July 30, 2018 as Captain/Jail Administrator. Gibson currently serves on the Community Corrections and Medical/Mental Health Committees of the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association (BSSA), is appointed by the BSSA as a member of the Ohio Justice Alliance for Community Corrections Committee and is also appointed to the Ohio Jail Advisory Board.
