House Bill 183 became effective on 09-11-2008.
The changes will apply to summons and complaints on foreclosures that are
filed with the Lorain County Clerk of Courts on or after 09-11-2008.
10-08-2008 - After a legal review, the Lorain County Sheriff's Office
will process Order of Sales under House Bill 138 that have been
filed (summons and complaint) with the Lorain County Clerk of Courts
on or after September 11th, 2008. The projected date for when
these changes will take effect is for sales scheduled on or about
March 2009. When our office starts to receive files for
Order Of Sales that have were filed on or after 09-11-08 and they
have been assigned a sale date, we will post a notice on the date
that the new changes will take effect.
Unless specified
please do not send deeds, checks, or any other documents. We
will post and notify your representative at sales when we will accept
these items.
All sales that were previously processed and
scheduled up to this projected date will be conducted in the same
manner as before.
Our office will have a complete list of what is
required and the steps necessary for each sale listed on this website
in the next few days.
